Jonny has been one of the best music teachers I have had in my musical career. He is very knowledgeable and incredibly well-versed in a variety of musical topics, from instrumental to theoretical aspects. Every lesson you learn something useful, and Jonny approaches his teaching in a very personalised manner. He is very flexible in the way he explains concepts and ideas, making complex topics much more digestible. He has an impressive mastery over orchestral composition and orchestration, which has been most useful in my own learning. He always offers constructive feedback in a way that encourages you to try new things without any judgement. On top of being a professional, Jonny's personality is what also makes his lessons something to look forward to each time. If anyone is looking to learn music basics or perfect or deepen already existing knowledge, Jonny is the person to go to. Could not recommend him enough!

I’ve been taking piano lessons with Jonathan for over a year, and the progress I've made is incredible. He has drastically improved my music reading and piano technique by breaking down everything into easy, manageable steps. Not only that, his music theory knowledge is brilliant, and he often can tell you things about the way a piece was written, which really helps, as well as being interesting. On top of being a fantastic teacher, he’s a genuinely great guy, lessons are always fun, engaging, and relaxed, with plenty of room for friendly conversation. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for an encouraging and friendly instructor!

"Having started lessons on music composition with Jonny at the beginning of this year, I have learnt so much more recently than I did years ago, and I am in my 60s. Jonny has a special talent with understanding my own individual, quirky needs and finds the most appropriate method to help me understand the bits I find difficult. I'm looking forward to the prospect of becoming a composer. Such fun! I would heartily recommend Jonny as an excellent music tutor for anyone wanting to start from scratch or advance their existing musical potential/talent to greater heights."

"Jonathan is a delight a teacher. I was very late into getting into music, despite enjoying in since being a small child. And what regret I feel from not taking up lessons sooner is washed away by how awesome and encouraging he is as a teacher. I feel like in the last few years I've been a regular student, I have seen a progrss I wouldn't have thought possible. Going from wanting to just learn to play the piano to now wanting to release music to the world is such a wonderful feeling. I couldn't recommend Jonathan enough!"

"I'm only choosing 5 stars because 6 aren't available (or 7 or 8 or 10...). Cannot recommend enough, Jonathan is incredibly knowledgeable, patient (thankfully for moi) and has a great sense of humour! I'm an adult who has been playing music for over 10 years on bass and guitar mainly but had long yearned to play keyboard semi-well too. I was entirely casually self-taught also so my music theory was severely lacking to say the least. Since I started my lessons with Jonathan a few months back he has packed every single session full of information, context and examples all catered to what I want to get out of playing the keyboard. Bit by bit I can feel the (many) gaps in my basic theory knowledge getting filled and Jonathan knows just how to encourage or give constructive crticism of my playing in the right way without applying any pressure. I look forward to each lesson and am having such joy playing, practicing and learning. I cannot thank and cannot recommend this chap enough!"

"Guitar Lessons Beginner- Jonny is incredibly insightful and delivers great detail about the guitar and musicians, shown when we rotate from lessons on Musical history, Musical theory and then practicals. I have previous experience on piano, but Jonny has allowed for me to see things in a different perspective and actively challenges my knowledge and encourages me to challenge his. I am more confident and comfortable with every lesson on not just how to play, but ways to memorise and construct new pieces! He is flexible on what to go through in the lessons and always asks for my opinion on where I would like to cover so I get the most out of each one. He is open, honest and a great laugh! 5 star teacher!"

"We (me and John) have had three lessons at my home with Jonathan and Iboth absolutely love it. We are complete beginners and we're a little nervous to begin with but Jonathan is very pleasant, patient and supportive and it's a lovely relaxed and enjoyable hour. He is very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions or clear up ambiguities and gives clear instructions and relevant information. It's great fun as Jonathan has a good sense of humour too. We are already making real progress and I'm so excited about my new hobby. I would highly recommend him."
